Good morning dear sister!

Oh, happy day! Another day living in the goodness of God! He woke you up this morning, right? 

Even though we may have woken up still in the same trial, the same testing, the Lord wants to remind you that He loves you, He is with you and that if you lean on Him, He will bring you through to victory!

His Word is full of promises to that end! Starting every day with a few minutes of reading and meditating on His Word is the real breakfast of champions; giving you energy, hope and strength in the Lord to get through whatever He has ordained for you!

Let’s see, what’s for breakfast today? My breakfast started with the verse above! I used to beat my tambourine to that verse put to song. (Talk about waking up!) It’s fun to sing, but what does it mean?

God will always keep His promises to His children!! All that He has promised to humankind is already secured and fulfilled in Jesus Christ, the ‘Him’ referred to in the verse. 

The Amen of the promise isn’t our response, but God’s response! Jesus is God’s Amen!  “Amen”, “truly”, “so be it” are all affirmations that the promise is already finished and true! When we respond in fath and trust in His promise, it brings glory and honor back to Him!

I got to thinking about this verse after I read Pastor G’s “Believer’s Blog”. I was really struck by these simple thoughts; “A promise not claimed or acted upon has the same effect as a promise never made. For example, if I promise to help you whenever you call me, but you never call, you will not receive the benefit of that promise.  

In Christianity, God is the promise maker, while we, as His children, must be the promise claimers!”*

Wow! All we have to do is ask and believe! And why not? It came naturally to us as children. We didn’t hesitate for a moment to run to a parent or someone we loved and trusted!

To help encourage us in that way, Pastor preached a sermon titled “What To Do When You Don’t Know?” on 8/23/2026. Most of you, my sisters, were away on retreat, so I want to share a little of something he said in case you can’t go back and stream it.**

The theme was mainly about looking to God and His faithfulness to us in the midst of tests and trials. He ‘nearly ended’ his sermon with what he called his “Since” list and I’d like to share that with you because it contains so many of God’s promises! Read it out loud to yourself, you’ll be edified!

“Since I believe that God has my life and times in His hand (Psalm 31:15 My times are in your hand; deliver me from the hands of my enemies, from those who pursue me.)

Since He has promised to get me through to the other side of my trial (Nahum 1:7 The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; he knows those who take refuge in him.)

Since my trial or test is to make me stronger (Isaiah 41:10 Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you.)

Since He promised to never give me more than I can handle (Isaiah 25:4) You have been a refuge for the poor, a stronghold for the needy in their distress, a refuge from the storm and a shade from the heat.)

Since He promises to show me a way out (1 Corinthians 10:13) No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure.

Since He told me that He will watch over me (Psalm 139:2-3) You know when I sit down and when I rise up; you discern my thoughts from afar. You search out my path and my lying down and are acquainted with all my ways.

Since He will give me the ability to overcome (1 John 4:4) The One who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.

Since He is in my ‘boat’, though the waves be high and wild, even if He seems to be sleeping, my boat cannot sink! (James 1:2–3) Consider it pure joy... whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.”

If we truly know who God is and what He has promised, why shouldn’t we have joy, peace and confidence, even as we endure various trials? As Pastor G said, these things are only temporary! God wants to bring us to the next level of faith, trust and fellowship with Him!

We need to be in spiritual shape in order to bear the eternal weight of glory that God is preparing for us!
