Good Saturday morning church family
This morning my thought is a word that I shared a few weeks ago on Sunday morning. If you were here you may remember the word---Ambassador.
In 2 Cor. 5:20, Paul tells us: "We are Christ's Ambassadors."
Since we are born again, we are all Christ's Ambassadors.
An ambassador is simply a representative sent out on a mission to build relationships with others. In America, we have ambassadors throughout the world to represent the USA and its interests.
However, we are ambassadors for Christ. God has sent us out into the world to represent His Son, Jesus. We are spiritual ambassadors, reflecting the interest of Jesus.
I share a few thoughts with you.
1- You represent Jesus to this world.
That is no longer a Sunday thing. It is day to day, event to event. You and I represent Jesus in how He talks, walks, speaks, gives counsel according to the need.
In Phil. 1:27, it says "Be sure that you live in a way that brings honor to the Good news of Christ."
So, how are we representing Jesus out there on the streets, in our workplace, the neighborhood, in our schools?
As we go about our daily lives, remind yourself: I represent Jesus all day long.
Eph. 4:1 says to us, "Live a life worthy of the calling you have received."
2- We have been given a mission.
Just as Jesus was given a mission by His father to teach about the "Kingdom of God," so have we been given the same mission without fear.
There is no vacation from this mission, because you can take it with you and share it during your vacation.
Our mission: Helping others to know Jesus, his love, and forgiveness.
3- Speak with authority.
When we speak about Jesus, speak with authority and never apologize for who Jesus is and what his purpose was here on Earth. When your speaking is weak, others will not believe what you are saying. Speak with love, but speak with authority—believe what you are saying.
Read and reread Matt. 28:19-20 and see what Jesus tells us.
So, be an Ambassador that the Father will be proud and be able to say of you---"Well done, good and faithful servant"
**Hey, here is something you can try:** When you introduce yourself to someone, start like this: Good day, my name is Ambassador ______________. That may perk their interest and who knows where that can lead.
