Good Saturday morning to you all.
I am sure that most of us know that tomorrow is Father's day. So---to all our HCF dads---Happy Father's day to you. I am inviting you to join us tomorrow as we celebrate what God says about you in His Word. Plus, we have a little gift for all our dads.
I am convinced that God loves fathers, because He made so many of them. You may be one of them who is reading this blog.
I realize that many dads may not have been given a fair shake with their kids. Maybe because of a divorce, separation or other situations. Nevertheless, you are still a father in the eyes and heart of God. You cannot take that lightly and have responsibility to your children. I realize at times, strange challenges may keep us away from our kids. My challenge to you is don't quit trying. Do all you can within reason to spare time with them. Your kids need you.
I spoke to a man last Saturday during our Drive through Prayer ministry at church who had not seen his children or grandchildren for over 30 years because of choices he made years ago.
He has paid the price both to society and family for those doings and yet still no family to go home to. The man is nearly 80 years of age and in good health yet no one to share it with.
When I asked him, have you tried to reach out, he was afraid of the rejection he might get from them. We prayed together and encouraged him to make the call. He asked me ---but what if they reject me? My answer was simple---What if they don't?
Here is my challenge to you dads today--- If you have a good relationship with your kids---great, continue to do all you can to keep going forward. If your relationship is marred with some past experience---make that call, do what you can to heal that relationship. Trust God to soften the hearts ---only He can do that.
This life is short, live it to its highest potential. Live it, love it and laugh again.
May every dad have a wonderful day, and may one of your children or grandchildren take you out for ice-cream.
